I am trying to get my 2000 GMC k2500 HD with a 5.7 vortex to pass smog. the code reader and the smog shop both are showing "oxygen sensor heater inc"

the o2 sensor in bank 2 was originally replaced, that code was cleared now it only shows the above code . I have driven the truck over 250 miles since  putting in the new o2 sensor with no luck The smog guy says that it is working because it would throw trouble codes if it was not. What does anyone recommend that I do and has anyone else had this problem? Thanks

sorry no one has replied

it is usually bad spark plugs or wires that cause a bad spark for these code errors to generate

however the life of these sensors is only 100K miles

even if you replaced the sensor you still might have ready codes being generated that could affect the test

simplest answer i can give is bad plugs cause these errors

bank 1 is drivers side, bank 2 passengers side

sensor 1 is before cat (upstream), sensor 2 is after (downstream)

I hope this helps
